Our Teal Fusion Bureau came to us in need of reviving, so we treated it to a mid-century inspired restoration, using Annie Sloan Aubusson Blue paintwork and Belgravia Wilson paper inlays.
Equally beautiful and useful, this classic claw foot bureau provides both functional work-from-home space with storage as well as a statement of design for your home.
The drop-down desk panel has been treated to a full restoration of all the metalwork, ensuring the hinges are correctly placed to align the working lock with it’s original key. The finishing touch is a paper inlay in the recess panel displaying a pair of oriental dragons – fully sealed with multiple coats of varnish for practicality.
There are three drawers below the desk panel which all have inlays from the paper, showing off the dragon & tiger designs. And the cubby storage in the top section has been backed with the tigers to contrast beautifully with the revived rich wood dividers and blue paintwork.
The finishing touches are the decorative scrollwork on the desk lid and the claw foot balls, both of which have gold gilt paintwork to highlight them.
