Inspired by the Gulf Racing livery of the 1960s Ford GT40 (amongst many other marques) and the classic Porsche livery of the past, these original 1950s children’s wooden school chairs were restored and reimagined by Clarity in the Cotswolds.
These solid wood chairs were in reasonable condition when we discovered them, but still needed some repair work before being prepped for paint. After some research, and very careful masking tape work, they were painted in Annie Sloan chalk paint and sealed & protected with clear wax, with some aged effect applied for extra authenticity.
Dimensions of these chairs were 58cm high (seat base 31cm), 36cm wide, 37cm deep. If you’d like something similar yourself, please drop us a message.
Unsurprisingly, they were both purchased by the same person and we’re planning more motorsport inspired creations for the very near future!
